Access to Opportunity
Oakville’s
population is among the best-educated in the country. There are 17
universities that can be reached in under an hour, and 15 private
schools in town, including the prestigious Appleby College. The economy
is strong with more than 100,000 people employed at big names like Ford,
Manulife, Tim Hortons, UTC Aerospace Systems, Siemens, Suncor Energy,
and PwC, and 41,000 new jobs expected over the next two decades.
Population growth is also expected to continue and with it, home value;
between 1990 and 2019, the average price of a home in Oakville rose from
$350,000 to $1.9 million – a growth rate significantly higher than that
of the GTA.
